Healing Spaces

The Pono Pursuit approach to holding healing circles began in 2002. Over the years we have honed in on the critical elements of bringing together people of diverse backgrounds to celebrate our excellence and release the impacts of racial trauma.

Healing Space Agreements:

  • Trust yourself.

  • Take the time to validate your emotions and others.

  • Practice mindfulness.

  • Prioritize regulating your nervous system. Being in a constant of arousal is not sustainable or healthy.

  • Be aware of and manage your tolerance for discomfort.

  • Center the voices of elders and people closest to the issues.

  • Lived experience is expertise.

  • Prioritize your breath.

  • People of productivity.

  • Celebrate and invite the pauses.
